Payments to be made by cheque or bank transfer, unfortunately we do not have card facilities.

Arrivals and Departures

Changeover day is normally Saturday to Saturday with entry at 3 pm and departure by 10 am, unless by prior arrangement.

Condition of property

An Taigh Clach will be presented to you in a clean and tidy manner. We do not expect you to do any cleaning during your break but would appreciate honesty with regard to any breakages or non-functioning equipment. This will enable us to replace these items prior to our next guest’s arrival. Breakages and any missing items may be back charged at replacement cost.

Where guests have opted for a 2 week break, we will provide a bed linen, towel and valeting service visit at no extra cost, at a mutually convenient time.

Smoking Policy

An Taigh Clach is a no smoking establishment – please respect this and take a seat on the bench provided outside.

Sunday Policy

We respectfully ask guests to be aware of the local tradition of Sunday observance. For those guests wishing to attend church, the village has both a Free Church of Scotland and Church of Scotland and either of these churches will make you very welcome. Service times for both churches are in the information pack.

Pets

Pets are very welcome at An Taigh Clach, however we respectfully request that they be kept off the sofas, are restricted to the living and kitchen areas and that the garden and lawn are kept clear of all pet fouling.  Any damage caused may be charged at cost of refurbishment or replacement.  You are also reminded that this is a crofting township with both enclosed and free roaming livestock therefore dogs should be kept on a lead at all times.

Insurance

We would advise you to take out travel insurance as payments are normally non-refundable with any returns entirely at our discretion.

Your participation with us in any of the crofting activities in our annual cycle is very welcome. The pay is poor but the rewards in other ways can sometimes be fantastic. But while we will make every effort to minimise your exposure to risk, where livestock and machinery are involved there is always and element of the ‘unknown’ and these activities are taken entirely at your own discretion.

Walks among the livestock will only be permitted under strict supervision and under no circumstance will dogs be allowed amongst the livestock.

Your participation in other ‘off croft’ activities is entirely at your own discretion and risk.

An Taigh Clach make no recommendation or guarantee of the quality of service, safety or operation or fitness for purpose of products or services provided by any of the links on our site.

Parking

While there is off road parking for 2 vehicles at An Taigh Clach we can make no guarantee of safety. Vehicles, contents and accessories are parked at the owner’s risk, however theft and petty crime are virtually unheard off in our community.
